FALL FOR ONE ANOTHER WITH SOME FALL DATE IDEAS

The fall is a good season for dating. The weather is usually pretty good, the leaves are changing and, yes, there is football (high school, college and professional). Below are fifteen fall date ideas to consider.

  • Go on a hike at a city, state or national park in your area. Google best hikes in the area and do the first one that comes up.
  • Go on a fall bike ride. If possible, drive out in the country and drive on a rode with little traffic.
  • Borrow or rent kayaks or canoes and go on a ride down a small river. If possible, leave a car down river so you don’t have to worry about paddling back upstream.
  • Do a double-feature movie. Go to a movie. Then, go out to eat. Then, go to another movie. If budget is an issue, look for discount movie night. In our area, movies at $6 on Tuesdays.
  • Play tennis or pickleball with just the two of you. Yes, pickleball is typically a doubles sport. But take a date night and just practice together.
  • Buy two big pumpkins and have a pumpkin carving or painting contest. If you have kids, have them vote on whose is the best. If you don’t have kids, post them on social media and let the public vote.
  • Build a campfire or small bonfire and cook smores or hotdogs while you just talk.
  • Make apple cider or something my wife calls wassail. Put it in a thermos and go to a scenic place to just hang out.
  • Rent a cabin at a local state park, hike and have a great overnight date.
  • Tailgate and attend a college, pro or high school football game.
  • Have a football on tv date together. Make wings, have good beverages and just enjoy a game together on the couch.
  • Go to a corn maze if one exists in your area. If you are from the city and don’t know what a corn maze is, that is fine too. In fact, corn is maize.
  • Go pick fruit together at an orchard. Marilyn thinks it is fun to pick apples, strawberries or peaches. I think it is a bit easier to just buy them at the grocery.
  • Spend a date brainstorming about Christmas gifts for the family. You can go store to store and get ahead of the Christmas rush.
  • Enjoy some fall golf. If only one of you golfs, the other can drive the cart or just enjoy riding around the course.

Action Item: Pick three of the ideas above and put them on the calendar for some fun dates this fall.
