GO ALL IN – SHOOT YOUR SHOT
Few people truly commit to a direction and stick with it for the long haul. Those who are willing to take risks, make sacrifices, show initiative, and commit to a cause or path are the ones who leave a lasting legacy in this world.
It’s easy to get caught up in the ever-shifting currents of life. We must navigate through the busyness and monotony and focus on what truly matters. This doesn’t mean acting recklessly or without thought, but neither should we fall into “paralysis by analysis.”
What are your goals in this life? On your deathbed, what would define a successful and fruitful life for you? Write those goals down and ensure your daily actions consistently move you toward them. Success will not come by accident.
This week, I was inspired by a young woman named Leighton Lunger, who has a passion for mentoring teens and young adults. Her website, prayherforward.com, showcases her dedication. She is going all in. She’s talking to people, writing curriculum, attending conferences, and wholeheartedly committing to a cause. She will make a significant difference.
Let’s begin with our marriages. Don’t settle for a mundane, average relationship. Invest. Sacrifice. Extend grace. Strive for something extraordinary. A life of continual investment in your marriage can serve as the foundation for making a broader impact in other areas of your life.
Our marriages can also be our ministry—a way to reflect the gospel to the world. A thriving marriage rooted in love, service, and commitment puts the transformative power of the gospel on display for all to see.
Action Items:
- What is one thing you can do every single day to breathe life into your marriage?
- How can you go “all in” to pursue a life of meaning and legacy?
Scripture for Reflection: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).
